Shipping
Orders are dispatched from our workshop in the UK. Every shipment is tracked, and you receive the tracking number by email when the order leaves us. Tax and shipping are calculated at checkout from the destination and parcel weight.
Processing and lead times
In-stock instruments are picked, given a final functional check, packed with their calibration certificate, and dispatched on a best-efforts basis - we aim to ship within 2 working days (US orders subject to US stock availability). Build-to-order or out-of-stock items have a stated lead time; if anything will take longer than quoted we email you before charging. Estimated transit times by destination are shown below.
Carriers, service levels and rates
We ship with Royal Mail, DPD and DHL depending on destination, weight and value. High-value instruments are shipped insured and may require a signature on delivery.
Free delivery: UK orders of £48 or more (£40 + VAT) and US orders of $50 or more ship free; below those minimums the standard rates in the tables apply. EU delivery is a flat £14.95, and the rest of the world is charged at the rates shown below — both free on orders over £1,000.

Tax
UK orders include 20% VAT. Orders shipped outside the UK are zero-rated for UK VAT at checkout. Prices on the site are shown inclusive of UK VAT; UK customers can switch to an ex-VAT view using the toggle in the site header.
Import duty, customs and taxes (orders outside the UK)
Orders shipped outside the UK may attract import duty, local sales tax/VAT and a customs-clearance fee on arrival. Unless your order confirmation states delivered-duty-paid, these charges are payable by the recipient (the importer of record) and are not included in the price or shipping cost shown at checkout. We declare goods at their full commercial value; we do not mark shipments as gifts or under-declare value. Each shipment includes a commercial invoice and, where applicable, commodity (HS) codes and our EORI number.
United States
US orders are sold by Electron Plus Instruments LLC in US dollars, with free shipping on orders of $50 or more to the contiguous United States (lower 48); below $50 a flat $15 applies. For delivery to Alaska, Hawaii or US territories, email sales-us@electron.plus for a shipping quote before ordering.
Export controls and restricted destinations
Some instruments and destinations are subject to UK (and, for US-fulfilled orders, US) export controls. We may need to verify the end-use, end-user and destination before dispatch, and we cannot ship to embargoed or sanctioned destinations. See Terms for the full export-control clause.
Problems with a shipment
If a parcel arrives damaged, is delayed, or doesn't arrive, email support@electron.plus with your order reference and we'll trace it with the carrier. For damage, keep the packaging - the carrier may need to inspect it.
