Warranty
Standard cover
Every Electron Plus instrument is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for two years from the date of dispatch. If a covered defect appears within the warranty period we will, at our option, repair or replace the instrument free of charge. This warranty is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Accessories, cables, probes and batteries are warranted for one year. Calibration tokens, blank PCBs and other consumables are not covered.
What's covered
- Defects in materials and workmanship that cause the instrument to fail to meet its published specifications.
- Parts and labour for repair during the warranty period.
- Return shipping to you after an in-warranty repair.
What's not covered
- Damage from misuse, mishandling, modification, or operating outside published specifications.
- Damage from over-voltage, over-current, electrostatic discharge or unsuitable test environments.
- Damage in transit when an instrument is returned to us inadequately packed.
- Wear-and-tear of cables, sockets, probes and adapters.
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect function.
- Instruments whose serial number or calibration seal has been removed, defaced or tampered with.
- Repairs or modifications carried out by anyone other than Electron Plus or an authorised partner.
Calibration
Each instrument ships calibrated against reference standards that are themselves calibrated by UKAS-accredited laboratories, with a calibration certificate. The defect warranty above is separate from calibration accuracy over time: measurement instruments drift, and we recommend annual recalibration to maintain measurement integrity. Recalibration is a paid service - contact support@electron.plus for a quote and a return authorisation.
Making a warranty claim
- Email support@electron.plus with the instrument serial number (rear-panel label), your order or registration reference, and a description of the fault. Measurements or screenshots help us diagnose faster.
- We may ask a few diagnostic questions first - many issues are resolved without a return.
- If a return is needed we issue a return authorisation number and the address.
- Send the instrument in its original packaging with the authorisation number marked clearly. For in-warranty claims you pay to send it to us; we pay to return the repaired or replaced instrument to you.
- Out-of-warranty repairs are quoted before any work begins.
Registering your instrument
Instruments bought direct from electron.plus are registered to your account automatically. If you bought through a distributor or second-hand, register the serial number at Register an instrument so we can link warranty, calibration certificates and software entitlements to you.
Remedy and liability
Repair or replacement (or, where neither is possible, a refund) is your sole remedy under this warranty. Our liability is limited as set out in Terms; nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be limited by law.
